Forum members,
I just wanted to take time to wish you and your country well.
Here in the UK we can only now start to understand the strain of isolating and the worry of simply living; we do not yet have the fearful threat of morality close to home.
Keep strong,
Alan

Re: Reaching out.
Hi Alan, thanks for the good wishes which I reciprocate.
The situation is sad and forced imprisonment at home (I am one of the "lucky ones" who still works ...) consumes the nerves.
In spite of all this we will survive because, as we say in these lands: gli stronzi restano a galla......

Re: Reaching out.
Hi Alan, so great to hear from you! Yes, such scary times these days.
The virus is hitting very hard, we're struggling to limit the damage but we'll have to work more than a bit to recover from the aftermath of the pandemic.
But even this cloud shows some silver lining. The way people react to the virus is amazing. Politicians not so much, but some people became a true source of inspiration for all of us. And we'll never thank them enough for what they're doing .
Best wishes to you and your beloved ones, Alan. Stay home, stay healthy!

Re: Reaching out.
12 months of Covid since my first post, I did not want to believe it would have such an anniversary.
Reading enthusiasts posts has certainly helped me to stay sane and I hope the same is true across the forum.
I attach a photo of the watch I am wearing. I hope this star will help shine a kindly light on us all.
Cordially,
Alan

Re: Reaching out.
Friends, will we ever be able to discontinue this thread?
Here in the UK public opinion has changed and it seems Covid is no longer to be feared as it was. Cases are even higher, yet thanks to vaccinations hospitalisations are rare. According to news reports 1 in 20 people are infected and yet crowds of 1 million attend Premier League football matches weekly, of which 90% are un-masked. I am reminded of an old saying "The whole world has gone mad except you and me - and I have my doubts about you".
A watch, perhaps a "Ray" of sunshine for the future.
